Like all Tamnavulin, this whisky starts life in American ex-bourbon casks, adding smoothness to their sweet, fruity spirit. Then, when the time is right, the whisky is finished in seasoned sherry casks. Amber gold in the glass, where rich, warm aromas of apple, toffee and honey with sweet marzipan and subtle tangy marmalade notes meet the nose. This whisky has, unusually, been distilled using peated malted barley. The GlenDronach 'peated' pays homage to the peat historically used to dry malted barley in the traditional floor maltings. Matured in bourbon casks followed by a second period of maturation in the finest Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks.
